Florida by Storm

Florida is a great place to live because you can step out of your door and be on vacation. This past weekend I enjoyed setting sail to the lovely Bahamas aboard The Monarch of the Seas cruise. Lately all of my friends have been turning the big 4-0 and we are celebrating bigger and better then when we turned the not so big 3-0. Which makes me believe the saying is true, “40 IS the new 30.” So 20 of us hopped on the boat and ventured into the wavy, stormy, rainy seas of the Atlantic Ocean. Did I mention it was wavy, stormy, and rainy? 3 days later I am still swaying from the ship. We got to the Bahamas on Saturday morning-and at least got to enjoy a couple of hours of sun before the winds kicked up and it started to rain. So how did Royal Caribbean repay this lovely weather? By skipping our second stop and “spending a fun day at sea.” Did I mention it was wavy, stormy, and rainy? Overall the weather did not agree with us, but we sure did have fun. It is the company you keep right? Happy Birthday Duane! I look forward to celebrating the next 40 with everyone again!!

They could go all the way.

It’s officially football season and Keith came into work today with his NE Pats jersey on with a spring in his step because he is going to the game tonight. For his sake and our sanity I hope they win tonight-it will make for a much better Tuesday. Although if I was a bettin’ women my money is on Miami–come on! It’s the hometown team!!

It’s been a while since my last posting-whew we have been busy. The new 2011-2012 Lyric Magazine was put to bed-and it looks the best it has ever looked!! Linda Daly from The Lyric worked so hard on ad sales and kept everyone on track with that end as far as organization. It was a pleasure to work with her. She got some new clients who we designed some cool ads for-keep your eyes out-it will hit the streets in the next week or so!

Danced the night away!

What a magical night Saturday night was! We could not have asked for anything better. From the weather (which was of course hot-but perfect!)—for August 27th in the middle of the summer in Florida. We managed to keep away hurricane Irene and the sun came through in all it’s glory! The bands kept the crowds entertained at all corners of the Festival with every kind of music. An added crowd pleaser of a full-size half pipe skate ramp was the over-all attraction of the night. Skaters traveled up and down and back and forth ALL night non-stop! The newly opened CRUSH Wine Bar housed a stellar wine garden with wines from all over the world to sample.

Like I said… I could not have asked for a better more perfect night. The committee busted their humps and it showed. It was an honor to work with all of you. Next year 2012 mark 25 YEARS of this festival! How do we improve? Right now–I am not sure—but we will come up with something. If you have any suggestions please email me.

Until we dance again………..
